4Kids CEO Buys Bernie Madoff’s Apartment in Manhattan

4Kids logoAlfred Kahn, known to American otaku as ‘Al’ and the man behind the company that bastardized the One Piece and Yu-Gi-Oh franchises has been revealed as the buyer for white collar criminal Bernie Madoff’s former Manhattan apartment steps away from the now defunct investment firm at the center of one of the largest cases of investment fraud in US history. The New York Post revealed the name yesterday in its Monday edition.

4Kids Entertainment recently posted $5 million in losses for the third quarter of 2009 in its most recent 10-Q filing, with recent SEC filings indicating that the CEO will tie exexcutive compensation to company performance, take a 20% paycut to $765,000 from his former $900,000 rate, and give the Chief Financial Officer and General Counsel additional pay equaling two times their annual salaries and an additional bonus in the event that the company is sold.
