4Kids Posts Subtitled Sonic X Test Reel

American media licensor and toy developer 4Kids Entertainment has posted a five minute test reel of English subtitled Sonic X footage to gauge demand for the production and availability of the original Japanese version.

4Kids Entertainment originally licensed Sonic X for television broadcast on the 4Kids TV programming block on Fox beginning in 2003 with ShoPro Entertainment (now Viz Media), cycling through all available episides to the present day where it remains on the CW4Kids block airing random episodes.

The English version, like all 4Kids productions has been criticized for its continuity errors and thematic changes to make the show more appropriate for the target audience, with 4Kids making recent inroads to appeal to dedicated fans with the above test reel as well as offering uncut subtitled episodes of its other flagship franchise in Yu-Gi-Oh.
