History
AnimeNews.biz, established in 2008 is one of the fastest growing providers of anime industry news.
Founded by and , the site has a broad staff of contributors, writers, and support staff all with one goal: better informing the anime watching audience and potential media customer.
The site was founded to espouse and evangelize Japanese animation, as well as provide a greater sense of transparency between the typically nebulous world of the anime production and distribution industry in the US and Japan.
The ultimate goal of the site is to attract fans of all types, from the dedicated enthusiast collector, right down to the first-time viewer watching on television or the internet, with a healthy dose of debate and opinion mixed in for good measure.
The staff strives for the most comprehensive coverage possible and encourages the community as a whole to get involved by commenting on stories and submitting news. The site is the result of the lack of truly objective reporting in the anime industry, with most depending on poor layouts, too many ads, and irrelevant Japanese culture coverage that is less about informing and more about filler.
