lucky star v6 LE Bandai representative Robert Napton has confirmed that the Limited Edition version of Lucky Star Volume 6 has been canceled due to poor sales performance compounding the problem of low sales volume for a show that was never expected to do well outside of the core fanbase.

This follows up the “indefinite suspension” given last month when the volume was originally solicited to retailers without the limited edition, with many wondering why the limited edition wasn’t being made available and many others correctly speculating that it was canceled due to low sales.

That sucks. I’ve bought every the special edition of every volume so far except 5, and that’s only because I didn’t realize it was out until last week and need some cash to buy it.

    2. Yeah, its been doing pretty bad at retail stores and its only going to get worse from here on out.

man that suck I got all of the limited edition and was waiting for the last one to get it for a complete collection. I’m very upset.

    4. Mike says:

i bought all limit editions except 5 (like ziroc) i was really looking forward to this coming out to get the comlete collection…
is there some way you (the people at bandai) would consider making this last limited edition for all the fans?

    5. Jen says:

no I doubt there coming out with lucky star limited edition vol. 6 due to not making enough sale but they are coming out with lucky star vol. 6 dvd on march 17, 2009 and if we want to get the limited editon vol. 6 I bet they are only in Japanese language with english sub.
      so that suck.

    6. Vertix says:

I have collected all special editions 1-5 and this is a huge letdown. However, if bandai knows that this only appeals to the core otaku, why not sell the tshirt, cd, and alternate DVD cover at conventions! Sell seperatly to make more money, and enough to appeal to the core otaku convention goers! Think Bandai! Think of the fans! See y’all at Otakon!

      no wonder i couldn’t find it….dam….

perhaps they should stop being dam greedy and stop making “unlimited” copies of this “limited edition” version. ne ways, i’m disappointed that my collection will be incomplete…makes me less wana buy any other dvd’s released in the future…..

btw i know its’ a business, i’m just venting my anger/disappointment.

We must form a group to convince Bandai to release the limited edition volume 6. I pre-ordered it near December and just found out today that it wasn’t coming out. I was being told that it was on back order for more than a month but I didn’t know it had come to this. Who will join me?! We have to do something about this. Besides, it won’t make sense if Bandai releases the OVA and not the last volume.

    9. The last volume has also been back-ordered for awhile owing to Bandai’s issues with transitioning to Technicolor as their DVD replicator. As far as getting the LE out, it would be nice to satisfy everyone that wanted it, but their financial difficulties and low sales of the previous LE prevented them from making enough to finance the production of the last one

    10. Jen says:

well I guess the company is running low and since they are not making the sale they want in demand. They have to cancel it, and nowaday if you watch any anime movie most of the movie have cheap quality at the end and it said to be continued but they don’t make another one. Which suck! like for example if anyone have watch his and her circumstances you will know what I’m talking about. The movie is good til you reach the end.

    11. Habib says:

what is wrong with them they all care abuot only making money they disgust me, honestly then dont make 5 volumes of limited edtion only not to bring out the 6ith you disgusting pigs i cant stand that, so many people have been saving money from work, allowance, etc etc and now they wont be able to full fill this you low life dirt bags, so what if sales where down then make some damn copy at least

    12. らきすとFTW!!! says:

They should at least release a DVD cover or something so that collectors can have a complete set of the DVDs at the very least… I'm planning on buying the limited edition box sets as soon as I can. Why Bandai? WHY!!! NAZE!!!! なぜ!!!!!!

    13. Keroshino says:

I want my final limited edition TT-TT
