Castlevania Best Collection Boxset is $232 Worth of Win, Cheaper Than Merzbox

Castlevania BOXEver one to please its devoted fanbase, Konami has listed and priced its forthcoming Akumajou Dracula Best Music Collections BOX,which contains 18 discs of Castlevania music spanning the series across the NES, Game Boy, and MSX releases to the most recent games on the Game Boy Advance, PS2 and arcade.

The collection goes as far to include series spin-off Kid Dracula with Disc 18 being an “arrange” (cover) album of popular Castlevania tracks by Symphony of the Night composer Michiru Yamane and disc 19 being a DVD featuring recording studio footage and interviews.

Pricing for the box is set at 210,000 yen (US$232), so only the most devoted would be willing to throw down anyway, but if it means I can get my hands on the Library BGM from Symphony of the Night without resorting to PSF rips, then I’m definitely finding a way to order this.

It’s much cheaper than the $500 I paid for the Merzbox back in 2006, but the Castlevania box is better in terms of packaging and more accessible by comparison.
