Looks like Junko Mizuno’s expanding her talents to concert poster design as seen in the above image, as she has legendary rock band Faith No More’s concert poster for their appearance in Sydney, Australia.
The poster is as a limited print from Secret Serpent for $50. As a fan of Faith No More and all of the associated projects by Mike Patton and Co. as well as Junko Mizuno, I so fucking want this poster.

Since kept bitching for it, here goes:
The original:
First they came for the communists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a communist;
Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a trade unionist;
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew;
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak out for me.
As Akihabara is known as the tech/gadget mecca of Japan to outsiders, many often ignore the large market for radio controlled cars that many such enthusiasts hold in high reverence.
One such product that is sure to provide hours of fun is the Block Radio Control R/C car. The similarity to LEGO bricks is obvious, unfortunately it is not compatible with such pieces.
It’s bundled with a specific number of assorted pieces and a motorized base on which to assemble almost anything that comes to mind, with the added bonus of being able to control it and invariably explode the creation up into pieces before making a new form and starting anew.
The kit is available for $22 plus shipping from .
Speaking to L.A. Weekly blog West Coast Sound, musician/performer Andrew W.K. has in performing his recent album of Gundam covers , released in Japan last year at anime conventions in the US.
“If I’m asked, I absolutely would [play a convention]“.
“In my hometown, Ann Arbor, in southeast Michigan, there’s a hotbed of anime enthusiasts there. I would like to think that it’s because of the university, but there’s something special about southeast Michigan that attracts a certain kind of mind and a certain kind of pursuit. I think it’s one of the largest hubs of anime fandom in the U.S.
If I’m mistaken, I pray that it will be, but I think it already is. It’s massive. Someone approached us in Ann Arbor who runs a collectible store, an anime store, and said that this is the largest distributor for Gundam merchandise. I was very happy.
I thought that was a divine sign, even though I wasn’t as familiar with Gundam when I was growing up in Ann Arbor, to have moved away from there and do this project and then find out that people in my hometown are huge, diehard fans. That was a great experience and I hope they like my versions of the songs.”
While nothing has been confirmed, the idea of having a major artist on the level of Andrew W.K. is an enticing proposition for some of the larger conventions. Andrew W.K will be releasing the double album Close Calls with Brick Walls/Mother of Mankind in March and is slated to perform on the latest Warped Tour package this summer
4chan webmaster/overlord moot (Christopher Poole) recently gave a speech during a recent TED conference regarding the genesis of the imageboard and its impact across the wider internet and mainstream pop culture. Mind the quality.
There’s a Livejournal making the rounds explaining the Katsucon 16 weather situation and how it affects those with hotel rooms and refund requests.
The convention is still scheduled for this weekend in Maryland despite the inclement weather expected tonight into Thursday (20-30″ of snow with accumulation).
While the convention staff is doing its best to reassure attendees that the convention will still go on, the blog post also goes into exhaustive detail regarding how transport and travel will be affected. Anyone reading that’s going to Katsucon would be well served by reading the post.
As has been the case all weekend, Verizon Wireless is the boards.4chan.org subdomain on port 80, which is where each individual image and discussion board is stored on the popular site, while allowing all other traffic free reign.
In related news, Comcast itself filtered access to the main page and boards domain for a few hours Sunday night before restoring full access a few hours later. Both companies have yet to release official statements on the matter.
With the FCC actively pursuing inquiries into Verizon Wireless business practices and Comcast receiving penalties from the body for covertly filtering and shaping BitTorrent traffic which was found to be illegal, both conglomerates are set for another showdown regarding net neutrality and the ramifications of censorship with the regulatory body.
4chan was by AT&T last year after a wave of DDOS attacks leveled at the imageboard caused the service provider to block select parts of the domain until the issues could be resolved, but not before it violated its own policies regarding customer and site owner notices, leading to various protests and criticism of the conglomerate.
Update: Verizon Wireless spokesperson Jeffery Nelson has the following statement–
“Our network security system found traffic from some 4Chan web sites that had strong potential to disrupt the Verizon Wireless network, affecting our customers’ use of their services,” “With continuing investigation, and ensuring no current risk of harm, are giving the green-light to all 4Chan traffic. We will continue to monitor for any possibility of network harm.”
As 4Chan runs ads from adult websites on its non-worksafe boards and is currently fighting another wave of spam with infected archives being posted as highly requested files, the reasoning for the blockade makes more sense, although the potential for actual harm is being exaggerated for the sake of impact.
Verizon Wireless customers attempting to access 4chan’s image boards this weekend have been treated to site timeouts and connection refusals, as Verizon Wireless is actively blocking access to the imageboard while leaving other sites unaffected.
Verizon Wireless customers affected by the issue are to call Verizon Customer Service at (866) 298-537 and(800) 770-1179.
Anyone that remembers watching the second and third season of the Power Rangers on the Fox Kids block in the mid 90s remembers the saga of the Green/White Ranger, played by Jason David Frank.
Turns out his natural talent for martial arts is serving him well long after his stint in the series, as he made his official mixed martial arts debut this past weekend in Houston, TX (the asshole of America) during the MMA event sanctioned by the United States Amateur Combat Association under the Legacy Fighting Championship promotion.
Hit Continue reading for footage of his winning debut and a post-fight interview.
Following the conclusion of a special event dedicated to K-On last night in Tokyo, the broadcast schedule for the forthcoming anime has been to begin in April and will be broadcast on Japan’s TBS network.
This follows confirmation of another K-On season last month via the official portal after another K-On event. The confirmation also asks the dedicated fanbase to continue driving the success of the series by buying related merchandise and continuing to watch the show.
