Code Geass R2 On Adult Swim Hiatus Until January 10th
The programming director for the Adult Swim block, Kim Manning has stated in a board post on the Adult Swim bulletin board that Code Geass R2 would be placed on hiatus with repeat episodes for three weeks until January 10th, citing Bandai’s decision to not deliver the next episode until that day.
Speculation abounds that the dubbing work is running behind schedule due to company cutbacks and other changes made to streamline the company financially. The series had premiered immediately after the last episode in the first series aired on Adult Swim, and was placed on an accelerated schedule before being moved to the 5am “breakfast anime” slot, while a combination of fan outcry and business decisions forced the move of the show back to the 1AM timeslot.
