Actor James Marsters has confirmed that there will be a sequel to the recently released Dragonball Evolution film with principal filming set to begin in the fall of this year after the actor spends the summer touring with his band project.

The confirmation of the sequel should serve to ease the initial speculation of another Dragonball film (and subsequently anger fans)after the release of the first, as it was met with success in Asia while US audiences greeted the film with a far more tepid reaction judging by its gross ticket sales of $9 million in nine weekends during its run in theaters.

Are you kidding me? Oh my god, here we go again! -.-

  2. DC Blues says:

Dragon Ball Evolution was a good movie and foundation and the sequel will definitley build upon it. Especially if Vegeta is in it.

If you think that film was even average you to need a meter attached to the side of your mouth indicating how much oxygen you breathe in so i can charge you for stealing mine! It was shite. Messed up any good chance of better sequals. Vegeta will be some fag from space who masturbated with the clangers just before comming to Earth to bless Chatwins acting skills with a drop of jizsm to the forehead for fucking up one fo the best anime franchises of all time. The Saiyan race doesn’t exist in this film, Goku is some twat who used to mug around for “King Piccolo”, ozzaru is something that underworld shat out, ka me ha me has heal people, bulma is hard, Yamcha is a twat, theres some gay monks for no reason, Shenron/ Shenlong looks like something king arthur cuddles at night, do i need to say anymore? can’t believe the actual creator of the series had a part to play in this film, he’s shat on his own work.

Go buy the remastered box sets and actually whitness how this series should be. End of the day if they can make a good job of Hellboy 2 surely it can’t be that hard to make a top DB film. If anyone thinks im stupid for thinking this film should be a carbon copy of the anime are retarded. That’s the point of it being there! If you want to change the whole mithos of DB then call the film something else, fuck whits.

Why will there be a sequel? They only made $9 mil in the US and about $48 mil internationally and this was a $100 – $120 mil budget, so they lost money! I have a feeling the sequel will go directly to DVD like D&D movie sequel.

  5. Ladii says:

Give me a freakin’ BREAK!!! The movie was a flop. Jokes on your FOX! Its your loss and in these hard economic times I’d put my money on something gloden; NOT on a moive that will just sink. Come on there has to be other projects out there!

    satan… yes?

  7. mmk says:

the movies budget was only 45million, so they made money off the movie. their pushing with the sequel cuz they now know( my guess was dbe was some kinda test, to see how anime movies would hold up in live action.) that the franchise can make money wehn money is invested properly. 45 million dollar budget+ 57 million total gross (without dvd sales)= a decently profitable product. this time around will def. be different, supposedely they are hiring other ppl to go over james wong s script and collaborate b4 things get underway. should be interesting.

  8. Seiko says:

Well, the DVD release with definitely be pretty good. And the movie budget was only 40 mil despite earlier rumors and confirmations of 100 mil. And it wasn’t promoted much, so they’ll easily make a pretty big profit on this movie better than some films that were more sucessful.

I have a feeling the budget will only be like 30 mil for the sequel, and they’ll make it better to attract better attention. I wish they would recast Justin Chatwin but apparently that is not going to happen. It could possibly go direct to video in the US, but not in Asian countries.

I think people should appreciate this movie a lot more, even with it’s faults. it’s father better than any other anime adaptation, like Death Note, Dragonball Magic Begins, or some of the others.
I am looking foward to the movie version of “Blood; The Last Vampire.”

  9. Jen says:

I loved the dragonball evolution, though thought i was going to hate it. i am looking forward to the sequel.

wow. some people are just…how do you say…fucking idiots. okay let me break it down for you putos, especially you innit, you smelly little fucking puto. the dragonball series is amazing, but not perfect. and dragonball evolution is just the same. yeah they did leave out a shit load of stuff but honestly that might have been a good idea. can you really picture oolong walking around with them? silly right? and would you really take bulma seriously if she had a blue hair? no. no you wouldnt. and yes they dont say that goku is a saiyan or that saiyans even exist but maybe in the sequel they'll talk about it. remember, the point of the movie wasnt talking about saiyans, it was about stoping piccolo. and yeah he shouldve had a tail…but alright so there was alot of things wrong but it wasnt intended to be an exact copy of the original db. fuck, if they would have made the movie exactly like dragonball that shit wouldve been like twenty hours long, you silly little bitch.
before i watched the movie i thought it was gonna be the worst piece of garbage ever, but it actually was very good. besides leaving out a few characters and not going deeper into the plot of dragonball, it was good as a gateway to something more incredible. the sequel will most likely be alot better. actually if you like dragonball evolution then i promise you the sequel will be better, cuz lets be honest, DBZ is the dopest…well thats only assuming that the sequel will be based on the DBZ stories. and if you didnt like dragonball evolution, then you are a dick who expects an anime based film should be straight of the pages…talking pigs and all, you fucking smelly dumb doo doo gay gay.

  11. Drizzle says:

well i liked the first movie. and i was hella exited when i first heard about. couldnt wait to watch it. i was a huge Dragon Ball FaN back then wen i like 10.. AND yeah the movie was really different but i heard that the people working on giving the DRAGON BALL Z rights were being all deficult, like they didnt wanna give them rights to everything which is stupid.

the movie was great but there was 2 things i was trippin about; the time it was kinda short if you ask me and the big monkey he's suppose to turn into is like 8feet tall but in the cartoon it was a giant like 50 foot mokie but i got over it..

HAHAHAHA i forgot all about bulma's blue hair,,

hopefull the sequel will be BIGGER and BETTER.. and it will explain his past and talk about him having a tail too.. IF VEGETA is in the movie then i think they will bring the SAYAN race into it and then GOKU'S brother, and FREEZA and so much other badass characters.. im hella excited NOW…
