Eva 2.0 Mobile Phone Tie-In Confirmed

ImageFollowing up on the NEC mobile phone tie-in with Eden of the East, Gainax has confirmed that it will be offering a special edition NTT DoCoMo handset under the forthcoming Summer 2009 lineup expected to be announced early this week.

The mobile phone has been under development with NTT DoCoMo, Studio Khara, and an as yet unknown handset manufacturer with Anno overseeing all aspects of design and development, with the phone serving as a form of product placement and plot device with the “NERV ONLY” branding and logo prominently featured on the phone.

Evangelion 2.0: You Can (Not) Advance will be released next month in Japan.
