On continuing Geneon license rescues:

“Anything that has not been picked up has essentially gone back to the original licensors in Japan.”

More Shin-Chan?

“Yes, we are. As of current, no plans yet for sub only version of Shin-Chan, as they’re mainly concentrating on the dub version that we’re seeing on Adult Swim and DVD.”

Funimation News:
Evangelion 1.01 You are (not) alone – (1.11 SE DVD and BD due out Spring 2010)
El Cazador de la Bruja – both boxsets will be released on Dec 15)
Linebarrels of Iron (Season 1 Part 1 due out 1/19/10 at an MSRP of $59.98; preorder at TRSI for free mousepad)
Rin – Daughters of Mnemosyne (Complete series due out 1/19/10)

Full Metal Panic and Full Metal Panic Fumoffu will be available in 2010 on DVD and BD, streams begin on Funimation Video in December.

Sekirei
Tetsuwan Birdy Decode (Birdy the Mighty Decode)

Site for Birdy Decode is live: funimation.com/birdy

-On the upcoming Full Metal Panic release for BD, is it native HD or will it be upscale?
“It’ll depend on how the original source was made. If it was already in that format, it’ll be a direct transfer, otherwise it will be an upscale.”

Full Metal Panic does indeed have HD masters, except they are upscaled from the original 480i masters used in the production of the Japanese Blu-Ray boxset release.

- Shikabane Hime release?
“It will be out next year in 2010″

- What’s the ETA for FMA Brotherhood US release on DVD?
“Look for it sometime early to mid next year”

- What about Initial D? (complete series license announced earlier this year)
“Next year, mid to late part of the year”

Yeah, Kurozuka really surprised me. I thought it was amazing and it became one of my top 10 favorites. I can't wait to buy it on dvd! Yeah, it seems this show got next to no attention, which is unfortunate. I wonder why? Ha! Your right about Funimation. They always release the T&A shows before others, if they ever get to the others. I have a big list waiting, hehe.
    • My yearly spree is coming up soon, so I'm just checking off the stuff I can get my hands on. Funimation is just banking on what their audience wants, nothing wrong with that.

Its nice to see Tetsuwan and Sekirei are going to be released. I would also like a release of Kurozuka and the second season of Higurashi, but who knows, hehe. Next year should be a good year though!
    • You liked Kurozuka? I thought I was the only one that liked it. I wasn't
expecting Sekirei, but Funi's good at selling T&A.
