Funimation Rescues FLCL

FLCL FunimationThe prodigal series favored by anime enthusiasts in FLCL (Fooly Cooly) has been rescued by Funimation from the ashes of Synch-Point.

The Gainax/Production I.G. produced 6 episode OVA centers around Naota Nandaba, a kid dealing with the eccentricities of his hometown and struggling to break free from the shadow of his baseball playing older brother while coming of age who encounters a beautiful alien named Haruhara Haruko after being run over by her Vespa scooter and whacked in the head by a Rickennbacker bass guitar, where the real story begins.

The bigger story however is that the series will be released on Blu-Ray later this year as well as seeing a release in a complete DVD collection, giving people who own the old Synch-Point/Bandai set incentive to double dip if they happened to buy a Blu-Ray player.

At least there’s no need to spend $100+ on the last collection before it went out of print.

Why are you writing so hatefully about this anime and it's soundtrack? Is it really that important that you sound smart?

Just an opinion, nothing more nothing less. I actually like the anime, but
as is the case with many Gainax or Production I.G. productions, the fanbase
around them tends to go overboard, driving away a lot of new potential fans.

I also don't see where the pillows should be considered a great rock band
when there are plenty of other bands from Japan that hardly get any
attention in the fanbase such as Gallhammer and Sigh, but then I remember
that the majority of the fanbase only likes J-pop and doesn't bother to
explore outside of that narrow space.
