Gundam Unicorn OVA Series Worldwide in Spring 2010 (Updated)

The for the forthcoming Gundam Unicorn project has confirmed that the project will consist of six 50-minute episodes released on DVD and Blu-Ray disc beginning next Spring as well as event screenings, alternate distribution, and overseas exhibitions.

The Gundam Unicorn novels are set in the same Universal Century timeline as the first Mobile Suit Gundam science-fiction television anime series and its sequels produced by Yoshiuki Tomino and the Sunrise animation studio. After author Harutoshi Fukui finished serializing the novel version in the August issue of Kadokawa Shoten’s Monthly Shonen Ace magazine in June, the final two compiled book volumes in #9 and #10 will ship in Japan next Monday.
Novelist Fukui has also confirmed that the first anime episode will incorporate material from the first two novel volumes while also stating that the anime will include new ideas developed between himself and scriptwriter Yasuyuki Muto, emphasizing that it is faithful to his original work in an in the Daily Mainichi newspaper this past Wednesday.
The project is expected to launch this winter according to animation studio Sunrise, but no specific details have been confirmed as of yet, with a from Bandai Visual confirming worldwide release of the series next Spring and confirming English as one of the official languages for translation availability
