Imagi Closes US Office Due to Low Capital

The Imagi animation production studio based out of Hong Kong has announced and that it has closed its US branch and laid off its entire LA office staff numbering 30, retaining a number of key staff as consultants and subcontractors.
The studio previously laid off 100 staff members out 450 employees in December and is currently seeking new investment to the tune of $30 million.
The production house is continuing planning for its next project in the Gatchaman film adaptation after the Astro Boy release, which will be filmed in 3D according to its latest interim financial report last December 17th.
