Live Action Akira Getting New Script?
Movie rumor site Collider is that Children of Men screenwriters Mark Fergus and Hawk Ostby are turning in a new script for the seemingly revived live-action Akira adaptation, which is stated as the reason for the delay.
The report goes on to confirm key details such as the Manhattan setting and Kaneda’s bike are intact with a 2011 release date provided the script is approved by executives.
The movie would go into production next year and the studio would position the film as an event blockbuster.
