The Hollywood Reporter has filed a stating that Viz has struck a broadcast deal with Disney-ABC Cable Networks to broadcast Naruto Shippuden on the young male-oriented Disney XD cable channel which was rebranded and relaunched this year.
This follows Viz’s prior confirmation that Shippuden would not air on Cartoon Network at Anime Expo due to Cartoon Network’s shift away from licensed programming to cheaper internal productions and live action programming. The series has been streaming on Hulu, Joost, Crunchyroll and via the naruto.com portal since January with the companion DVD release available later this month.

Dude D: like when the heck did disney start getting back into anime!!??? Dude !!!??? Disney is probly made this deal with vis because they are loseing ratings!! So knowing naruto is popular with us otaku’s they want to air it and there ratings are going to probly go up( if the dubb is good WHICH IT BETTER FRICKIN BE!!!!) just like with ponyo (which i have yet to see) i thought they were going to change the theme song of ponyo to that damn suckish tecno song but they didnt and people said it was a preety good dub so i want to say this DISNEY NARUTO SHUPPIDEN BETTER BE GOOD OF UR FRICKIN GOING TO LOSE DAMN NEARLY ALL OF UR FRICKIN RATINGS IN THE TEEN AREA!!!!!!!! Evryone is right.Shippuden series will be the same.The Fuze music channel plays anime.They should’ve dne a deal with them.No editing nothing,they play animes straight up..

Disneys gonna ruin it theyre gonna change all the sub titles so no one knows what theyre saying for real they should have had adult swim play it but now its gonna be a little goody goody show like hannah montanna now in my opinion id just ignore the subtitles and if you know japanese just listen and if not buy the box set or have someone else translate a few cuss words in japanese would sound like: Oto, Ama, and Baka to name a few so listen for those and that and if yua hear em thats where a cuss word SHOULD be.

Wait a minute… does this mean they’re gonna air it so late on school nights only teenagers who don’t need much sleep can watch it?! What the hell! I mean seriously! If they 4Kids Shippuden, I will strangle myself with my own Akatsuki cloak. Tsunade will have an A-cup and wear turtle necks. Hidan will be replaced by a panda who does community work every sunday. You can forget his rituals too. Zetsu and Chouji will be feeding the hungry, Kaukuzu will be donating to the poor, and Itachi will be a therapudical hypnotist. The Uchiha brothers will reunite, realizing their misdeeds, going back to Konoha to become model citizens. Deidara’s voice actor will change to a girl, and when he explodes things, everyone will leave the blast unscathed. Pein (Pain) will be nicknamed ‘Happy’ or ‘Good Health’ or ‘Comfort’ or something. Konan will give real flowers to children so they won’t get papercuts. Kisame will become a mermaid with a magic wand. Tobi actually will be a good boy. Sasori will not call Chiyo a bitch, nor will he have ninja marionettes. Instead, he’ll put on puppet shows for homeless people. Orochimaru will not be the anime equivelant of Michael Jackson (may he rest in peace), he’ll be Elton John. ‘Sexy Jutsu’ will be more like ‘Very Pretty Female in a Full-body Jumpsuit Jutsu’. WTF IS THE WORLD COMING TO?!?!?!?!?
Ok. I dont like it that it’s going on Disney XD because of all the changes they will make to the show like changing the words around and making the insults fit for little kids. But the good part of Naruto Shippuden going to an american station is that other’s like Cartoon Network/Adult Swim will eventuraly get Airing privelleges so we can watch it on Friday’s, Saturday’s, or even Sunday’s.
So in my opiion we can just sit back and enjoy the english Shippuden and just wate for it to go on Cartoon Network.

I’m both happy and pissed about naruto coming back. But, why did it have to be on disney xd!!??!! I can’t stand it!!!! I dont blame CN for releasing Naruto…anymore…(they should get rid of ben 10 alien force).I wonder how naruto shippuden will turn out. I’m not all worry about disney changing naruto to make it more “child approve”. If they start cutting scenes from episodes and change dialoge because it’s “unappropriate” my as well not show naruto shippuden at all. You still got Naruto.com, even though it has subtitles and you can always read the mangas. Well, I wish naruto shippuden was on the Funimation channel or back on cartoon network even without Toonami. Let’s just see how it unwraps out.And hopefully, Disney wont ruin something thats great. Oh, I wonder if their gonna use new voice characters!!??!!?? If they do…please dont be stupid voices. shippuden is one of my favorite shows EVER, but disney will completely ruin it! why the fuck do disney want naruto, if they just gonna destroy it? Naruto is a kid show if it wasnt it wouldnt even be on CN to begin with.Disney XD is now favorite channel again when it was Toon Disney they officially have good shows, now CN is crap I dont even watch it anymore except for Robot Chicken and Bleach.

I think that this change is stupid! Naruto belongs on cartoon network, just like it started, it remained almost exactly the same way it was aired in Japan. I didn't see anything wrong with that, so why change to disney, all that they are going to do is edit the show to the point that no previous fans are going to want to watch it, me included. I really dont care if posting here makes a difference, but I just needed to vent my anger somewhere, I mean really, isnt Disney for little kids? Why didnt they just sick to their normal programming and let CN buy the rights to air Naruto Shippuden? Lile I said, I know for a fact that there will be many people who will not be watching Naruto Shippuden for the simple fact of Disney will slaughter it tothe point that there will be no point of wathing at all.

I've actually watched a very small portion of the first episode and I can honestly say, as a fan of the manga and CN anime, it blows. A lot. I mean A LOT. Totally shifts focus from the original target audience and puts it more towards little brats. It makes me sick whenever good, decent stuff from Japan or wherever is butchered whenever it's ported to the States.
Why not sit down to watch an entire episode before forming an opinion instead of pining for Cartoon Network? Are you one of those fans that immediately writes off anything related to Disney because of the image they have?
Since you didn't even watch a complete episode of Shippuden on the channel, your opinion can't be taken seriously because everything else I've read from other fans (and saw for myself) states the complete opposite of your opinion.
Yeah Naruto may belong on CN but have you noticed that Toonami is GONE? ALL the anime is almost gone from the channel and they haven't played antyhing new. Doesn't that say something about CN and not Disney? I actually watched a few episodes of Shippuden on XD (last night I stumbled upon it by accident) and I felt that nothing was cut out (from what I recall). If CN wanted Shippuden they would have it.
I'm actually angrier at CN for cutting off its anime supply out of the blue. A poor choice in my opinion.

What I really wanted is for naruto shippuden to be switched over to adult swim, with bleach and the other animes they show. I have nothing against disney but naruto shippuden is more of a older teen to adult program so yes thier will be editing for example chapter 347 were konohamaru does the sexy jutsu that whole part will be different. I think that what disney should have done is take kingdom hearts and turned it in to an animated show since disney characters are all ready there. I love anime because animes tell stories and are not overly censored like some american cartoons are because of parents.
Why would they make naruto be put on Disney. Are they trying to make every anime fan angry? If anything the show should be put on adult swim so that it could actually put on english tv in the same way it is showed in Japan. With all the cursing and action still there. On Disney this will never happen and that really angers me. WHY would they do such a thing. Its insane! Disney doesn't deserve the honor of having naruto. They shold of given it to adult swim or at least spike tv or something like that. You can't say no one likes anime because if anime came on more than just on saturdays i would watch it ever night and i know a ton of other people that would do the same.
I've been waiting for a long time for naruto shippuden to be put in english but now that you tell me its going to be on disney i have lost all hope that i'll like it in english. I might as well just stick to watching it in subbed form. Because if they made the show kiddy like they do with every other show its not worth watching in english.

I like Disney XD but I gotta say its for little kids and Naruto Shippuden isn't a little kids show I mean if you watch all of the episodes of Naruto Shippuden especially the new episode that just got released their gonna cut a lot of stuff out of it I mean there are a lot of blood and inappropriate language for youngsters to even be able to watch it. So Disney is going to cut off all the good stuff so that little children can be able watch it…I don't think they should change the anime so young people can watch it…they should have given it to someone else who wouldn't change anything. Some anime in the first place aren't meant for little kids, i guess u can say that kids are just attracted to it but come on little kids its a no for you to watch Naruto Shippuden unless when Disney XD changes it….well i gotta say have fun little kids with the anime when they change it XD!!!
