New Haruhi TV Series Details Surface

The February issue of NewType promises the first major details of the long confirmed but perpetually delayed second season of The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya TV series in the March issue.

The image does confirm that the magazine will have a feature regarding the new TV series, but it is not confirmed whether it will be a continuation of the first series, or a new story entirely.  The series, itself based on a series of light novels focuses on the precocious antics of one Haruhi Suzumiya who is perpetually bored and seeks out other lifeforms in aliens espers, and time travelers without realizing she has the power to control Existence itself, with the aforementioned beings banding together to keep her entertained.

  • It's fairly obvious which story will be covered in the second season by the Kouyouen uniform and long hair Haruhi is sporting (Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya). The show followed the novels to a T and I think they'll keep that consistency and continue to cover more (but not all) of the remaining novel stories.
