Otaku USA Drops Cover Price and Makes DVD Annual Pack-In

Sovereign Media, the publisher of the Japanese media culture magazine Otaku USA along with Editor-in-Chief Patrick Macias have confirmed that Otaku USA will no longer pack-in a DVD in every new bi-monthly issue, and will drop the cover price of the magazine from $9.99 to $5.99 for each issue before the December special issue.

The December special issue will then ship out with the bonus DVD at the former $9.99 cover price, with subscription rates also reflecting the change at $19.99 for one year and $39.99 for two years.

Special content codes will be placed within the magazine starting with the February 2009 issue for access to the additional content once relegated to the bi-monthly DVD at the Virtual DVD, such as manga chapters, music, trailers, and episodes from selected shows.

Current subscribers under the old rates will have their current subscriptions extended by half an issue rounded up by remainder of issues (Ex: if one issue remains, two will ship).
