Warner Bros. has sent out a press release detailing the forthcoming Halo Legends anthology and it includes an interview with Appleseed director Shinji Aramaki, who also directed “The Package” in the anthology. Halo Legends will be released on February 16th on Download to Own services, DVD and Blu-Ray.

Microsoft and Warner Bros. have announced the forthcoming release of the Japanese-produced Halo Legends anthology set for February 16th.

As previously reported the anthology features a series of short stories produced by Bones, Casio Entertainment, Production I.G., STUDIO 4C and Toei Animation.

The release will consist of the standard single disc DVD a double-disc special edition DVD which contains The Making of Halo Legends introduction video followed by a making-of segment for each episode, the Halo: Gaming Evolved short explaining the Halo phenomenon from its inception as an Xbox video game to a present day entertainment franchise, and audio commentary from directors Frank O’Connor and Joseph Chou.

The Blu-ray edition will contain all of the content of the special edition DVD plus “Halo: The Story So Far”, a summary of the Halo story through the events of Halo 3.

Following up with more Halo Legends news, Seraphim Studios (nee Amusement Park Media) will be handling the ADR work (voice recording) for the project, with former ADV Films executive John Ledford serving as execitive producer, which is pretty easy when everything is kept in the family as it were.

Warner Brothers previously utilized the studio under the former Amusement Park Media banner for ADR production work on the Shinji Aramaki helmed Appleseed: Ex Machina feature film.

Halo Legends Blu-RayMicrosoft and Warner Brothers have announced the preview schedule for its Halo Legends anime adaptation, to be broadcast on the Halo Waypoint service on the Xbox 360 console starting tomorrow. Each episode will be followed by the companion making-of special detailing the production process for each episode with the list following below.

The compilation film will make its official debut on February 2nd, 2010 with the PG-13 rated film being released in a standard $19.95 DVD edition; a $29.98 double-disc special edition DVD; and a $34.98 Blu-ray edition that contains all of the content of the special edition DVD plus “Halo: The Story So Far” a summary of the Halo story through the events of Halo 3.

GameTrailers TV has now posted the debut trailer for the forthcoming Halo Legends anime project. In related news, Ghost in the Shell director/producer Mamoru Oshii has been confirmed to be helming the Production I.G. short in the project.

The first previews for the project will be available exclusively on Xbox Live later this Fall via the dedicated Halo Waypoint portal on the Xbox 360 ahead of a disc/digital release in 2010 via Warner Bros.
