The Misato Katsuragi News Project, a paid news aggregator for the Playstation 3 developed by Namco Bandai and startup voice synthesis technogy developer Cellius (founded by Playstation developer Ken Kutaragi) will cease operation in Japan on June 5th of this year, marking 364 days of operation and ending one day short of what would have been its first year of operations.

The service was developed as a showcase for the Cellius voice synthesis technology and featured one of the most popular characters from the Neon Genesis Evangelion franchise delivering the news from various topics which included politics, the economy, sports and the anime industry while allowing viewers to customize the background and even Misato’s appearance.
