Warner Bros. to Produce American Death Note Adaptation
Warner Bros. is set to produce an American live-action adaptation of Death Note after months of speculation, to Variety.
The studio has hired Charley and Vlas Parlapanides to adapt the first three volumes of the manga into a new screenplay with Vertigo Entertainment producers Roy Lee and Doug Davison handling production with Dan Lin’s Lin Pictures and Brian Witten.
Warner Bros. Japan produced three live action Death Note adaptations at the height of the franchise popularity in 2007 and 2008 with L: Change The WorLd screening recently courtesy of Viz Pictures and Fathom Events.
