YouTube Rolling Out 1080p Video Streams

YouTube director of Product Management Hunter Walk has confirmed to NewTeeVee that the portal will begin to roll out 1080p video streams as well as going back and re-encoding videos in its library uploaded in the aforementioned resolution for display while talking about new YouTube products such as YouTube XL (YouTube formatted for televisions).

Analysis: Expect Funimation and other distributors to begin offering HD streams on YouTube to head off the biggest complaint fansub users have, which is a lack of high definition streams.
